human resources advisor

The Human Resources Advisor provides confidential support, direction and innovation in all areas of Human Resources. Contributing towards a positive work environment the incumbent will play a pivotal role in ensuring Alea, attracts, retains, develops and manages the best talent aligned to its core values.

duties and responsibilities

  • Assists in the development, deployment and maintenance of HR programs, policies and initiatives
  • Acts as subject-matter expert in the areas of employment law, human rights and employee/employer compliance
  • Contributes to the culture of Alea, working closely with an active social committee to ensure Alea continues to be a great place to work
  • Supports and coaches managers in contemporary best practices in human resources including employee and peer review systems, career management, reward and recognition systems, training and development etc.
  • Recruitment and selection of talent and management of external agencies and other sources
  • Maintaining relationships with recruiting agencies and other external sources
  • Conducting market research to identify trends impacting the recruitment and retention of staff
  • Meeting with managers to fully understand the job requirements
  • Sourcing and screening qualified candidates
  • Interviewing candidates with hiring managers
  • Conducting appropriate reference checks
  • Negotiating and preparing of employment offers
  • Onboarding for a smooth and positive transition
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers to effectively deal with all employee related initiatives from point of entry to point of exit

the ideal person

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Human Resources Coordinator/Advisor
  • One to two (1–2) years technical recruitment experience
  • Diploma in Human Resources Management with CHRP preferred
  • Experience in a software development/technology environment an asset
  • Strong proficiency using all MS Office applications
